What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? What is our purpose? These questions have puzzled mankind since the Big Bang. Take a moment and think about this – really think about it. Why are you here? Is it to just to grow up, go to school, work, marry, have kids, buy a house and then die? The reason the question lingers in our heads is that there has to be something more. We are always looking for more. Needing to find the answer makes us crazy because there is no solid evidence.
What is the meaning of life? Everyone has their theories, but is anyone, right? There is no way to prove the accuracy of their assumptions. It’s great to believe in something, don’t get me wrong, but we as humans NEED to know. Why must we NEED to know? What good will that do in our lifetime? Some might think it will give us a sense of peace or an understanding of what is expected from us. Others may be happiest not knowing anything at all.
But – what is the meaning of life?
Are we here to be happy, show kindness, hold a stimulating career, help others or be the best person we can be? Is the meaning of life geared to each individual? Maybe your meaning of life is completely different from mine and it’s something that resonates with each of our personal souls. Now it’s getting complicated!
Or – maybe it’s nothing. We just exist. We trudge through our little lives and then it becomes blackness.
It’s this question that drives us nuts. We as humans need answers. We question, hypothesize, research and experiment everything (you remember science class). The fact that we can’t get past the hypothesis stage only allows us to theorize. With so many personalities and beliefs getting thrown together, it’s wonderful to hear all sides – but it, in the end, it’s your opinion and yours alone.
So, now is my time to share my belief with you. I’m going to warn you though; I can’t give you any concrete answers either.
What is the meaning of life?
The meaning of life is so simple. We are all over thinking it. We are putting too much energy into trying to find the meaning instead of just living in the here and now. If we knew the meaning, life wouldn’t be so mysterious. And you know we all like a little mystery. The day will come when we die and depending on your beliefs, we just might be told the Meaning of Life. Once we are told, we are going to take our spirit hand, smack it to our spirit forehead and say, “duh, why didn’t I think of that?”
So until the day comes when we finally know that mystifying answer, just sit tight and be present.
