It doesn’t matter how you perceive unhappiness, whether you suffer with depression or you’re going down the forbidden rabbit hole. The point is, we’ve all experienced that sinking feeling of loneliness and despair. The kind of feeling that nothing will get better and all you see is darkness. It feels like the people you are closest to have turned their backs and their support is gone. You see the world through a cloud of smog.
This is all a part of life, Embracers. We will hit our highs and plummet to the lows. You may, in fact, be going through a Spiritual Awakening or upgrading to the next spiritual level. And if that’s the case, the smog will clear, you just have to push through. I have created a list of 10 Ways to Create Your Own Happiness When the World Sucks Around You to help you get through these troublesome times.
1. Respect other people’s journeys and mindsets. Everyone is vibing on different levels and that’s OK. Just encourage them to continue on their divine path and respect the path they are walking. Because, you too, are walking your own path.
2. Stay in your bubble. When things are hard and everyone is annoying you, get into your bubble. Mind your business and bring yourself inward.
3. Remember your values and peace of mind. Be true to yourself. Do what you feel is right according to your values. Ask yourself what will give you peace of mind and do it! If that means to take a break and *gasp* tell someone “No”, then that’s what you have to do.
4. Focus on yourself and go within. Again, you are embracing your own Journey Called Life, not anyone else’s. Live this life to make YOU happy. It’s not your responsibility to please anyone else, that’s their own job. Go within and focus on yourself. What do you want? How do you want to live? Who do you want to be?
5. Do things that bring you joy. Plain and simple. What is the point of life if you can’t enjoy the good stuff? And if you can’t find joy in anything… you’re not looking hard enough. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture like traveling the world, although that would be cool and joyous. Subsequently, it can be making jewelry, bird watching, fishing, or something as simple as petting your beloved fur babies. If it brings just the slightest smile to your face, you should be doing it more.
6. Do you and only you. Sit with yourself, alone and in the quiet, to block everything else out. This sounds a bit like meditation, doesn’t it? If you’re new to the whole woo-woo spiritual stuff, I’m not asking you to sit cross-legged and hum yourself out of the Universe. Just sit somewhere, stare off or focus your sight on one object and think about nothing. It’s hella hard without practice, yes. But to sit in the quiet and not let all your worries consume you, will bring you peace. And more often than not, a spark of inspiration or clarity may come. The less you think about your problems the more solutions will appear.
7. Control only what you can control. You can only control yourself, your responses, and your reactions. That’s it. You have full control over YOURSELF. Controlling the outside world, other people, and situations is impossible. And most of us stress over these obstacles that we have no control over and it drives us crazy. In these situations, you have to take a step back, go within, and realize that it is what it is. But how you respond and react is key. It’s such an amazing feeling when an uncontrollable situation presents itself, and you react in a humble, dignified manner. The power that will ooze throughout your body is a surreal experience. 8. Stay clear from negativity. Negativity will bring anyone down. We are here to experience the joys in life. So why would you want to waste your time on negative surroundings or people? Stop listening to the pessimistic jargon *cough* news *cough*. While scrolling through your social media, keep scrolling when you see a negative post and avoid the drama in the comments. It’s not good for your health.
9. Validate yourself. You are important! Treat yourself that way. Put yourself first and never forget how magnificent you are.
10. Embrace your Journey. We are here to experience the good and the bad. It’s your job to experience and appreciate the good while learning from the bad. Things will turn around, as they always do. Don’t lose sight of yourself and who you are. To summarize, don’t give up on yourself.
