Do Not Give Thanks on Thanksgiving

Yes, you read that title correctly.  Do Not Give Thanks on Thanksgiving.  Now, why would a personal development life coach give you that kind of malarkey advice?  Well – I can’t wait to explain myself.

The Mission: To express the reasoning behind Not Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving.

Every year, it’s the same thing.  We gear up for fall by displaying pumpkins, colorful leaves, and cornucopias.  We buy our turkeys and bake our pies to a delicious perfection as we joke about how fat we’ll become.  And we ponder that same yearly question: what are we thankful for?

Why?  Why does it take an annual “holiday” surrounded by a fictitious story to make us realize what we are thankful for?  (I’ll spare you my opinion on the lies we were told as children for another post.)  And why is it when everyone gathers around the table to eat, we declare our gratefulness?  My swirling confusion isn’t why we are thankful, but why do we only acknowledge it once a year?

Do Not Give Thanks on Thanksgiving

Do Not Give Thanks on Thanksgiving.  Give thanks EVERY DAY.  A calendar day should not remind people to give thanks.  It should be a daily, habitual affirmation that we are grateful for what we have in life.  It’s absurd that we, as a human race, need to remember to be appreciative.

If manifestation teaches us anything…

…it teaches us that what we put out in the universe, we get back.  When you are grateful, you naturally find positivity in your environment.  A positive mindset will only create more abundance in return.  So why are we wasting this magic on only ONE day?

When you are in a constant, set mind-frame, you get more of it.  And it takes just as much energy to be a positive person as it does to be negative.  So, what do you choose?  The choice is ultimately yours since you are the creator of your own world.

Don’t let a “holiday” dictate what and when you should be grateful.  Eat your turkey, watch your football, and stuff your face as much as you’d like.  But, Do Not Give Thanks on Thanksgiving… Give Thanks Every Day.

The Moral: Give thanks and be grateful for your life every day.  Plain and simple.  When you only focus on the good stuff, it’s amazing how your life will transform.
