How to Get in the Christmas Spirit

The Holidays are a time for family, friends, gifts, appreciation, cookies, caroling, candy canes and that warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart.  Of course, that’s what some feel.  Others may experience nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach and diarrhea… oh wait, that’s Pepto Bismol…

The Mission: To understand How to Get in the Christmas Spirit

I’ve always been a fan of the Christmas Season.  Decorating the tree, hanging lights, the hustle and bustle of shopping, and the crispness in the air always excited me.  There’s a feeling that radiates my soul with warmth and joy.  I know some of you are with me on those jolly spirits, however, I’m also aware that some of you Grinches out there are rolling your eyes.

It all boils down to what is happening in your life when the Holidays roll around.  If you are surrounded by loving family, you have a great job and your life is sprinkled with pixie dust and unicorn magic, then Congratulations: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.  It will be a wonderful time of year for you.

Conversely, if your life is feeling less than average, then Congratulations: Bah Humbug!  When you’re in that Bah Humbug mindset and surrounded by all those Holly Jolly’s, it can really mess with a person’s mind.  If you look at the Holiday Season with disgust of having to do this and having to do that, then of course you will embody the feelings of disgust throughout the most wonderful time of the year.

How to Get in the Christmas Spirit

It all depends on the perspective of the individual.  What you put out in the Universe and what you repeat over and over in your mind, is what will come back to you.  Unless you like being a miserable Scrooge, then get on with your bad self… but even the Grinch and Scrooge turned around in the end because their perspective switched.  In the end, they found what spoke to their heart (just sayin’).

The Moral: How to get in the Christmas Spirit and how you view the Holidays depends on your mindset.  If you’re in a negative place, then negativity will be drawn to you.  Whereas, if you switch your mentality to look at the positive aspects, then little beams joy will enter your heart and give you a different experience.  The mind is a powerful thing, Embracers… Enlighten, Encourage & Embrace it!
