Here is my honesty; I’m not always a “glass is half full” kind of girl. I have the tendency to see the glass and worry about where I’m going to get more water. Going through Life, I TRY to see the positive and silver lining in situations, but let’s be honest for a minute: Life Sucks Sometimes and Being Lost is Inevitable.
In Life you are trudging along, minding your own business then suddenly you come across that proverbial fork in the road. Decisions need your attention and the choices you make will affect the rest of your life. Life Sucks Sometimes and Being Lost is Inevitable. There, I said it. Is there ever a point in Life where we don’t feel lost? Things might be running smoothly until you walk into an inevitable fog of your Life. There is hopelessness, despair, struggles, and doubts. And how do you go forward? The only way is to walk through the fog and/or pick a turn. Life moves too fast sometimes and you spend most of that time running trying to catch up.
The Mission: To question the Lost feeling of Life and rationalize why Life sucks sometimes.
Anyone can tell you to be positive and make decisions that will make you happy. I’ve said it multiple times to make yourself happy and look out for #1 (you!), but sometimes that’s easier said than done. I came across a quote the other day by Louis C.K.: “Feeling unsure and lost is part of your path. Don’t avoid it. See what those feeling are showing you and use it. Take a breath. You’ll be OK even if you don’t feel okay all the time.” When things are going right and everything is clear, this quote is easy to believe. But what about the times when there’s fog and your world encumbrances the tough decisions of Life? Just “accepting” you’re Lost is no help.
Then what does help? Just riding the storm and taking Life as it comes?
That could be a nightmare depending on who you are and your strengths. Sometimes we find ourselves at such a crossroad that we examine, ponder, weigh our options and analyze the situation until it makes us sick. For those of you who don’t worry or aren’t overly stressed, I idolize you. Please comment below and tell the rest of us how you make these tough Life decisions.
The Moral: Life Sucks Sometimes and Being Lost is Inevitable… you just have to accept it and keep moving forward. By moving forward, you’ll get past the fog and see clear roads again. Be patient with yourself and don’t give up.
Know you’re not alone in feeling Lost. Life isn’t always rainbows, lollipops, and unicorns. Life is filled with demons, pain, and darkness too. We are all on this Journey Called Life and sometimes it just sucks!
